Extraction Code from the SNDS

The French National Health Database (SNDS) provides exceptionally detailed and exhaustive data on the healthcare consumption of the entire French population. For each individual, it is possible to track all health-related consumption, including physician visits, drug prescriptions, medical imaging, and laboratory analyses, as well as hospitalizations and acute care consumption, with precise dates and places of care.

Access to the data requires authorization from national authorities (CESREES and CNIL), or permanent access granted to academic laboratories. For international researchers, since obtaining authorization can be difficult in practice, research is generally conducted in partnership with local researchers.
